With New York Fashion Week just a few days away, we thought we'd catch any stragglers up to speed on who will likely be one of the most photographed "ladies" (perhaps an overstatement) at the shows: 13-year-old blogger Tavi Gevinson.
While the sartorial savvy have known about this pint-sized Chicago-residing fashion follower since she launched her " Style Rookie" blog in March 2008, Tavi mania has recently reached fever pitch, with 29,000 daily visitors (according to The Chicago Tribune) flocking to her site to read her fawning over high end designers and their collections.
This frenzy is in no small part due to Harper's Bazaar appointing Tavi its youngest columnist to date, edgy British magazines Pop and Love over-dressing her to appear on their respective covers and Target tapping the (just old enough to qualify as a teen) flavor of the month to host a video guide of the Rodarte for Target collaboration alongside her "friends," designers Kate and Laura Mulleavy.
Although, we're pretty sure junior high is back in session, Tavi could even be found sitting front row (with her father) at the recent haute couture shows in Paris, blogging for Pop and ticking off fellow attendees -- whose views were obstructed by her giant bow-adorned hat (a gift from famed milliner Stephen Jones, naturally) -- at Armani Privé.
Perhaps it's because the now grayish-blue haired girl has fashion heavyweights singing her praises, was "guest of honor" at a Comme des Garçons party in Tokyo and receives high end fashion freebies left and right that her critics have grown in number.
" It sums up the Haters thing altogether," Tavi writes on her blog of the bow hat incident.
" It is impossible for EVERYONE to be pleased with EVERYTHING. If I wore leather and studs no one would complain, and I'm not sorry for bringing a bit of color into the room. Haters gonna hate..."
Tavi also doesn't sound very sorry about her headpiece blocking others from seeing the Armani show, as she recently told The Fashion Informer that one of her favorite fashion week memories was "... meeting Stephen Jones and him giving me a hat and saying its knocking-people-in-the-face abilities were like old Dior dresses that would knock everyone's ashtrays over when the girls in them would spin." (Well, consider ashtrays knocked.)

While Tavi herself is rather harmless (though, let's face it, her overdone avant garde getups often warrant serious eye rolls), we've just become anti the whole Tavi phenomenon.
Our irritation mostly stems from the absurdity of fashion's biggest players anointing a 13-year-old blogger the next big thing and inserting her into an adult world that she has little business being a part of.
And maybe, at the core, having a 13-year-old seated in the front row and treated as a fashion expert, when she doesn't even have a fraction of the experience the seasoned journalists around -- or now behind -- her possess, is what really gets us.
We think this is the point Elle's Fashion News Director Anne Slowey was trying to get at when she recently told New York Magazine: "People in fashion are constantly looking for the next unique boundary-pushing extreme thing to get excited about, but, you know, it's like outsider art. What am I getting out of a 13-year-old's opinion about fashion? How does that help me distill the collections? What am I supposed to be buying? That's what an editor's job at a magazine is."
Although Slowey soon after tried to take back her statements (apparently nobody likes to look like their picking on a 13-year-old), we think she hit the nail on the head.
"Unfortunately we live in a culture that sees children as novelties," Susan Stiffelman, a family therapist and author in Malibu, Calif., tells StyleList. "We do it with actors and kids that are singers. But people dismiss the long-term impact on the children."
"It's inevitable that she'll have a crash," Stiffelman says of Tavi. "But it's very unlikely that she has the internal emotional equipment to cope with the negatives and the absence of all of that praise and attention."
Based on her observations of fashion and sometimes witty prose, it's clear that Tavi is wise beyond her years. But we just hope she's mature enough to recognize the fickle world she's playing in. Because, as Heidi Klum says, one season you're in and the next you're out.
In other words, it's sort of like high school.
Tavi did not respond to our requests for an interview.
What do you think of Tavi's icon status in the high stakes world of fashion: Is it harmless or potentially damaging?
And for a celebrity child who may be growing up a bit too fast, check out Suri Cruise's footwear of choice.

All U.S. federal, state and local laws and regulations apply. All U.S., federal, state and local and Canadian federal, provincial, and municipal laws and regulations apply. Void in Puerto Rico, Quebec and where prohibited by law.
2. Sponsor: The Giveaway is sponsored by AOL Inc., 770 Broadway, New York, NY 10003 ("Sponsor").
3. Agreement to Official Rules: Participation in the Giveaway constitutes entrant's full and unconditional agreement to and acceptance of these Official Rules and the decisions of the Sponsor, which are final and binding. Winning a prize is contingent upon fulfilling all requirements set forth herein.
4. Entry Period: The Giveaway begins at 2:00 pm ET February 8, 2010 and ends at 5:00 pm ET on February 11, 2010 (the "Entry Period").
5. Entry: During the Entry Period, go to http://www.stylelist.com/2010/02/08/new-york-fashion-week-vip-gift-bag-giveaway and follow the instructions to submit an entry. Submission will result in one (1) entry. Limit one (1) entry per person. Subsequent entries from the same person will be removed from the entry database. The use of any agencies or automated software to submit entries will void all entries submitted by that person.
6. Drawing: At the conclusion of the Giveaway, Sponsor will select the names of three (3) potential winners in a random drawing of all eligible entries received during the Entry Period. The odds of being selected as a potential winner depend on the number of eligible entries received during the Entry Period. Potential winners will be contacted via email and/or telephone and will be asked to provide their full name and mailing address within a specified time period. If potential winner does not respond within the timeframe stated in the notification email, the Sponsor may select an alternate potential winner in his/her place at random from all entries received during the Entry Period.
7. Requirements of the Potential Winners: Except where prohibited, the potential winners will be required to complete and return an affidavit of eligibility and liability/publicity release (the "Affidavit/Release") within a specified time period. If a potential winner fails to sign and return the Affidavit/Release within the required time period, an alternate entrant will be selected in his/her place in a random drawing of all entries received. In the event the potential winner of any prize is a Canadian resident, he/she will be required to correctly answer a time-limited mathematical question to be administered by email/mail to receive the prize.
8. Prizes: Three (3) Winners will each receive a Haute Look VIP Gift Bag that will include items such as: Baby Quasar Light Therapy Device, Gucci key chain, Burn candle, DL&Co candle, Alisa Michelle necklace, Oversized clutch from The Jack Rabbit Collection, Handcrafted women's jewelry from Robin Rotenier, and a $100 HauteLook gift card. The actual Prizes may vary based on availability but shall not significantly deviate from the categories listed above. Gift card is subject to issuer's terms and conditions. Approximate Retail Value of Prize is $1,400.
No cash or other substitution may be made, except by the Sponsor, who reserves the right to substitute a prize with another prize of equal or greater value if the prize is not available for any reason as determined by the Sponsor in its sole discretion. The winner is responsible for any taxes and fees associated with receipt or use of a prize.
9. General Conditions: In the event that the operation, security, or administration of the Giveaway is impaired in any way for any reason, including, but not limited to fraud, virus, or other technical problem, the Sponsor may, in its sole discretion, either: (a) suspend the Giveaway to address the impairment and then resume the Giveaway in a manner that best conforms to the spirit of these Official Rules; or (b) award the prizes at random from among the eligible entries received up to the time of the impairment. The Sponsor reserves the right in its sole discretion to disqualify any individual it finds to be tampering with the entry process or the operation of the Giveaway or to be acting in violation of these Official Rules or in an unsportsmanlike or disruptive manner. Any attempt by any person to undermine the legitimate operation of the Giveaway may be a violation of criminal and civil law, and, should such an attempt be made, the Sponsor reserves the right to seek damages from any such person to the fullest extent permitted by law. The Sponsor's failure to enforce any term of these Official Rules shall not constitute a waiver of that provision. In case of a dispute as to the owner of an entry, entry will be deemed to have been submitted by the authorized account holder of the screen name from which the entry is made. The authorized account holder is defined as the natural person who is assigned to an e-mail address by an Internet access provider, online service provider, or other organization responsible for assigning e-mail addresses for the domain associated with the submitted e-mail address. Except as noted in these rules, information collected from entrant is used only for the purpose of the prize drawing and to notify winners, and will not be re-used, sold or shared in any manner by Giveaway Entities or any third parties. Once the Giveaway has ended, all information supplied by entrants will be removed from the database. In the event of any discrepancy between the privacy policy and these Official Rules, these Official Rules shall control and govern. By entering the Giveaway, you agree to all of the terms and conditions of the Sponsor's Privacy Policy, which is available at http://about.aol.com/aolnetwork/aol_pp.
10. Release and Limitations of Liability: By participating in the Giveaway, entrants agree to release and hold harmless the Giveaway Entities from and against any claim or cause of action arising out of participation in the Giveaway or receipt or use of any prize, including, but not limited to: (a) unauthorized human intervention in the Giveaway; (b) technical errors related to computers, servers, providers, or telephone or network lines; (c) printing errors; (d) lost, late, postage-due, misdirected, or undeliverable mail; (e) errors in the administration of the Giveaway or the processing of entries; or (f) injury or damage to persons or property which may be caused, directly or indirectly, in whole or in part, from entrant's participation in the Giveaway or receipt of any prize. Entrant further agrees that in any cause of action, the Giveaway Entities' liability will be limited to the cost of entering and participating in the Giveaway, and in no event shall the Giveaway Entities be liable for attorney's fees. Entrant waives the right to claim any damages whatsoever, including, but not limited to, punitive, consequential, direct, or indirect damages.
11. Disputes: Except where prohibited, entrant agrees that any and all disputes, claims and causes of action arising out of, or connected with, the Giveaway or any prize awarded shall be resolved individually, without resort to any form of class action, and exclusively by the appropriate court located in the Commonwealth of Virginia. All issues and questions concerning the construction, validity, interpretation and enforceability of these Official Rules, entrant's rights and obligations, or the rights and obligations of the Sponsor in connection with the Giveaway, shall be governed by, and construed in accordance with, the laws of the Commonwealth of Virginia, without giving effect to any choice of law or conflict of law rules (whether of the Commonwealth of Virginia or any other jurisdiction), which would cause the application of the laws of any jurisdiction other than the Commonwealth of Virginia.

Popular in Japan for the past year and now gaining appeal in the USA, IV drip vitamin cocktails are the latest purported way to punch the aging demon.
The premise and claim? As we age, our bodies' natural nutrient stores deplete, leaving us tired and looking and feeling older. But injecting an individually tailored mix straight into the vein results in immediate application that gives you a sprightly energy boost and glowing, replenished skin.
Getty Images
"Skin is a mirror to what's going on inside your body," says Dr. William Lee, a Board-Certified Cardiovascular Physician at NY's Patients Medical, which offers the treatment, dubbed a "VEINity Cocktail."
"I often prescribe vitamin and mineral drips to people who come to me with nothing seriously 'wrong' with them, yet who aren't feeling so great, either. They replenish and preserve your organ reserves, which give you higher energy and make you feel younger," adds Dr. Lee.
But some doctors vehemently disagree.
"In my opinion, this is quackery at a new level, but with potentially very dangerous side effects. The likelihood that there can be any real and meaningful improvement of your skin from injecting vitamins into your bloodstream violates our understanding of what vitamins do, how they do it and the actual physiology of the skin," says NY Dermatologist Dr. Neal Schultz.
"The risks of 'casual' intravenous therapy are great and far exceed any justifiable expectations of benefit. VEINity cocktails are in my opinion neither good nor real medicine and potentially far too dangerous," adds Schultz.
Meanwhile, Keri Glassman - Nutritionist and Author of The O2 Diet - believes younger looking skin is better supplemented with a diet rich in anti-oxidants and nutrients.
"Unless you have a condition that prevents you from absorbing vitamins, your digestive system is all you need to deliver nutrients to your body. That's what it was made to do! More isn't necessarily better, and it's possible to overdo it. If you want an anti-inflammatory effect on your skin, adding something like salmon to your diet will give you a glow, advises Glassman.
Getty Images
Despite the mixed reactions, IV drip therapy isn't anything new. Football players have been known to get a boost through IVs at half-time, though their drips contain elements super high energy boosts like glucose, which the typical person doesn't need for everyday demands, says Dr. Lee. And hospitalized patients have used drips for hydration and nutrients for decades, which inspired the leap to vitamin drips for 'healthy' people.
But as with any procedure - particularly one that involves a needle - a well-informed patient is key to preventing a dangerous situation from occurring.
"I've heard of drips that claim to dissolve cellulite, relieve pain and so on. You've always got to ask: What's going into the mixture? Are these ingredients FDA-approved to be combined together? Is a board-certified physician overseeing it? And what's the actual evidence it'll do anything?" advises Dr. Loren S. Schechter, Chairman of the Patient Safety Committee for the American Society of Plastic Surgeons.
The vitamin drips generally retail in the range of $195 - $250 depending on how souped up you want your mixture.
Now to try or not to try? That was the question.
We curiously decided to give it a go, and were first physically examined for health by Dr. Lee at Patients Medical, where a waiting room with the soothing spa-like sounds of a rock fountain relaxed our city-induced tension. The holistic health center offers other alternative therapies like acupuncture and detoxification.
After receiving instructions on the blend of nutrients to mix from the doctor, a nurse administered the vitamin drip therapy. An hour later, and all dripped up - we experienced a boost in energy that lasted about 24 hours until it gradually waned off. But most surprisingly, our skin appeared glowing and plumped with hydration for a week afterwards - no small feat in the frosty, wind-whipped days of February.
Placebo-effect or real result?
Depends on who you ask. IV Drip Vitamin Cocktails: Latest Anti-Aging Secret or 'Quackery?' originally appeared on StyleList on Mon, 08 Feb 2010 10:00:00 EST. Please see our terms for use of feeds. Permalink | Email this | Comments

Your blowout could be doomed before you even pick up the hairdryer.
If you're frustrated with spending the extra time on your hair only to end up with limp locks that look nothing like when your stylist blows it out, a simple change to the way you're doing things could make all the difference.
Cheryl Esposito, a stylist at Blow, The New York Blow Dry Bar - where city girls pop in to get their strands set for sexy nights out on the town - explains the most common ways women ruin their blowouts, and how to style an envy-inducing mane of sleek fabulousness instead.
DON'T Slap on too much product. "We all have the tendency to pour it in our hands and jam it into the front hairline, which causes uneven application," says Esposito. Depending on your length and texture, start with a dime or quarter-size amount - and always round to the lighter side since most products can easily be layered if you need more later. Apply from the mid-shaft down, avoiding the root area so as to prevent an attack of the greasies.
DON'T Use a cheap hairdryer. Investing in a quality dryer will be more economical in the end because it'll dry faster and last longer. "If the blow dryer isn't hot enough, it'll be that much harder to get your hair smooth, and could be causing more damage to your hair," says Esposito. Look for a dryer with ionic technology for a gentler heat that gets the job done even quicker.
DON'T Forget the nozzle. This little accessory really does make a key difference in the smoothness of your blowout. "It allows you to get a precise angle and give you a more directional drying strength," says Esposito. Make sure the nozzle always points downwards on the length of your hair, unless you're adding volume to the root by shooting up against it.
A Blow Blowdrying expert in action! Courtesy Photo
DON'T Use a damaging brush. If you're going for a smooth look - and really, who isn't - a boar bristle brush is your best friend. "It's gentle on the hair, smoothes the cuticle and allows the natural oils of the hair to add condition and shine," says Esposito. And the natural tension the bristles create makes for a smoother, more lustrous finish.
DON'T Apply product straight out of the shower. "Most products are water soluble and will perform much better if you 'rough dry' your hair a bit - meaning, dry hair with your fingers just enough to absorb excess water so that it's not dripping wet," says Esposito. Short on time? Sop hair up with an absorbent cotton towel first to cut minutes drying.
Once you've got your gorgeous blowout, lengthen its life with a quick sprinkle of hair powder on the roots the next day to absorb oil and refresh strands with texture and volume.
And for versatile hold with minimal build-up, we're loving Blow's new Serious Non-Stick Hairspray. Fortified with proteins, natural soy and silk, the light spray also comes in a super cute mini hot pink version that actually fits into a clutch.
We're betting it was designed by a woman. 5 Ways You're Ruining Your Blowout originally appeared on StyleList on Mon, 08 Feb 2010 09:00:00 EST. Please see our terms for use of feeds. Permalink | Email this | Comments

Carrie Underwood sang the national anthem at the Super Bowl 2010 game tonight.
The altar-bound country girl wore her sparkly new engagement ring (naturally), along with an all-white outfit of a different kind: A Rock & Republic cropped "Cary" jacket ($298 at the R&R signature store on Robertson in Los Angeles) and matching white pants.
Not many people can pull off tight white pants, but Underwood's notoriously strict diet and workout plan has clearly made it possible. The star looked fabulous as she stole the spotlight before the big game.
Underwood's blonde locks were extra-bright for the occasion, and she added sparkle to her outfit with a silver woven tank and hoop earrings.
The " American Idol" alum isn't the only star with a passion for pigskin...
From models to singers to actresses, we've pulled together some other famous football fans. Take a look at some familiar faces below:

Model Chanel Iman is serving as a judge for the Teen Vogue and L.e.i. Model Citizen contest -- a nationwide model search for the girl (age 15-21) who best embodies the L.e.i: Life, Energy, Intelligence motto.
The winner will walk away with a $100,000 college scholarship, a spot in L.e.i.'s national Fall 2010 ad campaign and a Teen Vogue internship.
Iman took time out of her busy pre-Fashion Week schedule to answer questions during a one-hour live stream on Facebook for the competition, but not before StyleList caught up with the beauty to find out about her first Victoria's Secret runway experience, favorite cut of jeans and Valentine's Day plans.
StyleList: What enticed you to be a judge for the Teen Vogue and L.e.i. Model Citizen Contest?
Chanel Iman: Teen Vogue is a part of it, and it is my way to give back, not only to Teen Vogue, but to teen girls. It's a way that I can give back to the girls that are coming into the industry... It's great to give advice on what I think about fashion and help them along the way.
SL: What are you looking for in the girls?
CI: A young lady who is very confident and believes in herself, and if we see that she believes in herself than we can start to believe in her, because you have to believe in yourself before others can believe in you.
SL: Since L.e.i. is a denim brand, do you have a favorite cut of jeans?
CI: Right now, everyone is into skinny jeans; I like skinny jeans.
SL: You did your first turn in the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show late last year; can you sum up what the experience has been like for you?
CI: Victoria's Secret has been an amazing experience and so much fun... they are a great company. They give you an opportunity to show your own personality and be yourself -- basically, that is what a model should be, herself.
SL: Speaking of underwear, do you have a favorite style?
CI: I like a lot of the PINK stuff from Victoria's Secret. I wear a lot of the sweatpants and hoodies, but I also like the boy briefs, and I like the Sexy Little Things line as well.
SL: Any beauty tips, Fashion Week and beyond?
CI: Clean skin. There is so much makeup at Fashion Week, so I'm always taking my makeup off; I think if you keep super clean skin, nice eyebrows and conditioned lips then everything will look nice. I like natural beauty.
SL: What are your V-Day plans? Or will you be in a show at Fashion Week?
CI: I think I will probably be walking in a show, unfortunately. ["She will be surprised," Chanel's boyfriend, Chris, chimes in.]
SL: Today you'll be fielding some questions and compliments via the Facebook live stream; what types of social media do you use?
CI: I use Twitter [ @itsmechaneliman], but I have been so busy and I feel bad because I haven't been able to reach out to my followers, and this [the Facebook stream] is actually great for me because I can reach out to them again!
Get the details on L.e.i's Model Citizen search in the below video.

Before she was "The Queen of Seventh Avenue," quintessential New York City designer Donna Karan earned her stripes at Parsons The New School for Design.
Thursday night she revisited her alma mater to celebrate this fall's launch of two new graduate fashion programs at Parsons. In a lively conversation with Valerie Steele, the director and chief curator of The Museum at the Fashion Institute of Technology, the two fashion veterans discussed Karan's life, career and inspirations.
Throughout the evening, Karan delved into the social and political implications of fashion in today's global marketplace and the necessity of conscientious consumerism.
She touched on the myriad of challenges she faced in balancing a career and family throughout the years, the inspirations behind some of her most iconic ad campaigns and even flunking out of her draping class at Parsons.
Karan, who since 1984 has seamlessly combined practicality and glamour in women's apparel, is as passionate about her philanthropic endeavors as she is about fashion.
Most recently, she founded the Urban Zen Initiative and spoke at length of her very deep commitment to helping rebuild Haiti.
It's safe to say that her tremendous dedication to social responsibility and international success in the design world inspired more than a few Parsons students among the packed audience.
Plus, see what's new in Donna Karan's fashion empire. Donna Karan Goes Back to Parsons originally appeared on StyleList on Sat, 06 Feb 2010 18:00:00 EST. Please see our terms for use of feeds. Permalink | Email this | Comments

Though Brigitte Nielsen had a successful career as a model and actress in the '80s, many of us probably know her best (in recent years, at least) for her unlikely love affair with Public Enemy rapper Flavor Flav. (Remember that?!)
After the tryst between "Gita" (her pet name) and "Fouffy Fouffy" (his) played out on several Vh1 reality shows, both stars faded off both our TV screens and our radar. Until now.
Nielsen has just made a sudden return to the modeling world for the first time in nearly two decades.
She posed for the Spring/Summer issue of Copenhagen-based DANSK Magazine, also sitting for an interview which is sure to be interesting.
The Danish model, now 46, still sports her infamous bleach blonde cropped hairstyle in the photos, and luckily the camera still loves her statuesque frame and chiseled, strong features. Take a look at Nielsen working it:

This shoot could be the beginning of a new era for Nielsen, marking a new popularity for the model among today's hot young stars. According to Just Jared, Rihanna approached Nielsen at the People's Choice awards to ask, "Can I just be you for a day?"

Just days after her sensational wet and wild performance at the 2010 Grammys, singer Pink appeared on " Oprah's" live Friday show and dished on the high flying antics that brought the star-studded house down.
The superstar singer told Oprah that she was wearing Cher's favorite designer, Bob Mackie, when she took to the Grammy stage in the silk hooded robe.
Pink then stripped down to a barely-there nude body stocking and sang one of her personal favorites, " Glitter in the Air," while twirling in "her silks" (Pink's term for the aerial cables).
The acrobatic Grammys act, which ended with Pink deliberately drenched in water, earned her a rousing standing ovation and Oprah's eternal awe.
"I had to go closer to the television to make sure you really were singing," the talk show host told her guest. "I thought it was a transcendent performance."
What was the best part of the night for the sweet-faced style rebel who seemed blasé about her own celebrity? "It was fun getting all the famous people wet," Pink said. "It was a good night."
She also confessed to Oprah that it is important for her audience to know that she is not lip-syncing when she takes to the air, purposely breathing heavily into the mic, "so people know I'm not faking."
It was hard to tell if Pink, who was wearing her hair slicked up and back with a prominent black flower accessory, still had gray-tipped strands, a look that got her a ton of red carpet attention on Grammy night.
The singer walked onto Oprah's stage dressed mostly in black with a bold embellished choker which screamed rock royalty.
As for the magnificent shape she revealed in her body-baring Grammys costume, Pink explained that she is fit from touring to promote her hit-filled " Funhouse" CD.
Then Pink sheepishly confessed that she also was a gymnast for eight years, runs for 70 minutes at a time, does lots of yoga (an hour or more) and is a huge fan of P90X -- a video-based fitness system that whips her into shape.
And no offense to the stars of the fitness series, but Pink told Oprah, "I do it with the guy on mute." To quote one of Pink's songs, " So What?" We'd do it blindfolded to have that body.
When Oprah fussed over Pink's taut abs, the singer insisted she gets pudgy when not touring and claimed that she is already sporting a spare "bagel" since the Grammys. Nice try!
Check out Pink's performance below:
Pink is not the only cutting-edge musician to appear on "Oprah" of late. Check out the queen of talk hanging with Lady Gaga.

The uber-stylist, author, and designer of HSN's Styled by Sam Saboura fashion line, is helping women to dress for their shape in our latest video series, " My Body, My Style."
Over the past week, he's guided new mom Genelle on outfits for the office, and for a casual day out.
In this episode he offers tips on how Genelle - and women who share a similarly large cup size - can dress for a fun evening on the town. And let us tell you, does she look glam in her new party dress!
According to Sam, the most important takeaway is to create balance and work with proportion so your top half doesn't overwhelm the rest of your body. If that means buying a slightly bigger size and going to the tailor for some easy alterations, then so be it!
But don't take our word for it, check out Saboura's invaluable wardrobe advice in the video below and let us know what you think by leaving a comment!

How far would you go for love?
Actress Debi Mazar of " Entourage" says she's been known to go the extra mile, and so have dozens of others who have posted videos on DropEverythingForLove.com.
The site, sponsored by diamond jeweler Everlon, launched Feb. 1 -- just in time for Valentine's Day. It asks the romantically-inclined to record video declarations of their love via a short webcam interview.
Everyday people as well as celebrities are getting into the virtual valentines. Debi Mazar spills on her nine-year romance with husband, Gabriele Corcos.
How do they show their love without saying, "I love you?" "We cook together," she says. And the three words she would use to describe their love? "Mercurial, honest, magnificent."
" A Serious Man" actress Amy Landecker, also recorded an interview for the site, proclaiming her love for her kitty.
Even if you're anti-Valentine's Day, we think you'll be smitten with these sweet stories. And if you're trying to think up a cool gift for your honey, this one is sure to earn you some serious brownie points. You have 'til Feb. 14 to proclaim your love.
Oh, and to the guys reading this, diamonds are acceptable, too.
Here's how some other celebs are baring their souls -- well, their bodies, anyway -- for another type of love. Debi Mazar Would Drop Everything for Love. Still working on that Valentine's Day gift registry for your significant other? We've got one last-minute addition.
While your better half is stocking up on frilly panties, silky chemises and racy garters at Agent Provocateur, have him swing by and pick up the lingerie label's newly launched jewelry collection.
That's right -- the British brand is putting its sexy stamp on a new line of baubles created by designer Katie Rowland, who is known for her high-end knuckledusters..
The collection includes three ranges inspired by "the dark and twisted fantasy of fairy tales, the seduction of the concubines and the frivolity of the playground," reports Elle UK.
The Slave for You line features a double ring (seen above) and bracelet/ring combo connected by chains, while Dark Fairytale includes delicate gold bands and long dangling ear threads, and New World Order stars warrior princess-chic pendants.
Priced from $130 to $700, the boudoir bling is perfect for those girls who feel naked without their jewelry... especially when they are naked.
Meanwhile, get the details on Dita Von Teese's new boudoir-worthy design.

Friday, January 29, 2010, Purple Lab made history. We broke the Guinness world record for the largest speed dating event (the record was 250 people, total).
The whole premise for the event was to celebrate the launch of Luvah, our new double-plumping, aphrodesiac infused lip product, created as a nod to my journey of 150 dates to find my husband. I figured the event could speed the process up for everyone and maybe they, too, could find their luvah (said like Will Ferrell in SNL).
The speed-dating scene! Courtesy Photo
With Master Matchmer Steve Ward of VH-1's Tough Love as host, 350 daters came to the W Hoboken to get their groove on over X-Rated Fusion cocktails. I can't say the night wasn't chaotic. Forget the dozens of girls, trying to bust in on the action even though the event was closed due to fire hazards!
Never mind the Steve Ward fans hoping to possibly leave with his digits (sorry, girls, he's taken). And forget the sea of boys surveying the scene like a bunch of sharks encircling their prey. Two men, apparently brothers, actually left their designated posts and stood in the back of the room to try to pick the girls they wanted to meet! As a girl's girl, I warned their victims in advance. Can you even?
There was so much going on between hair touch up stations by got2b, perfume girls spritzing a new pheremone-laced fragrance called Swingle by Michael Todd Cosmetics, and making sure that I could find girls to test out all of the new products and give HSN some video testimonials, that it was almost hard to stay organized (speaking of organization, we could have used a few extra helping hands, but I did score 13 fabulous testimonials!).
Here's how the speed dating worked: There were to be 20 three-minute dates. Girls stayed still and the guys moved to the right every time a siren went off. This all went down in the wedding ball room (coincidence?) and giant Purple Lab gobos lit up the walls in a chic purple glow.
Luvah, our new double-plumping, aphrodesiac infused lip product. Courtesy Photo
Each table was equipped with paper and pen for copious dating notes, as each dater received an I.D. number (B1 to B175 for boy 1 to boy 175 and so on). On our speed dating microsite, everyone is able to plug in who they liked. If the feeling is mutual, they will all be alerted next week.
But I spotted success long before the night ended. One couple actually decided they met their new Luvahs, left half way through, and got cozy at the bar downstairs for the rest of the night! And I spotted another in serious lip lock, with Dentyne in hand (we had a supply of gum for these very moments!).
i don't know yet about the rest of the daters, but I promise to do the makeup for any girl who gets married to someone she met at our soiree!
Here's to love. May your journey be full of yummy kisses - and amazing lip stains and gloss, like Luvah. Did I mention that the shades are named after archetypes of guys I dated? The first two are Rich Jerk and Mama's Boy. May you never have to date them yourself, but the colors rock!
Mwah!

Last night's episode of " Project Runway" was heart-warming. The designers' clients were all women who have been profoundly affected by cardiovascular disease.
These vibrant ladies have experienced heart attacks, transplants and pacemakers, all at relatively young ages. They deserve a great dress. Some, but not all, will get them.
The Challenge: The designers are instructed by design mentor Tim Gunn to create a formal red dress that the women, all heart disease survivors, can wear to a charity function during New York Fashion Week. Since Campbell's Soup is a sponsor of the gala, as part of its Campbell's Address Your Heart campaign, the designers must also incorporate the company's branding into their designs.
We've seen soup labels on tote bags and Warhols before... so we hope the results are steamy, and not a hot mess.
The Bonus: The winning designer gets to accompany his/her muse to the fashion week gala and the design will also be produced as a limited edition charity item available for sale on PR's official Web site. The designers are so excited, we can almost feel the energy.
The Twist: Real women mean real curves. Some of the designers are having palpitations when they realize their models are not a "size two or size four." Seth Aaron Henderson, the Christian Dior-loving contestant, is especially frantic.
He frets when his full-figured model insists on Grecian-draping. It's not his style.
"A tough fit is a good lesson. I'm glad we have real women to work with," Gunn tells the designer. Henderson is not so sure."I want my mommy," he says. If Henderson makes it to fashion week, don't expect plus-size models on his runway.
The Workroom Drama: Jay Nicholas Sario weeps upon learning that his client, Julie, was technically dead for two minutes after collapsing in a restaurant. While, our favorite designer, Anthony Williams, shares that he brought his mother to live with him in Atlanta because she has heart disease and is so worried for the clients.
"It's bad enough they have heart disease. Now they have to go out there and have Heidi and Michael and Nina tell them they look horrible in our dresses." Time to put our hearts on our sleeves: Anthony, we will never stop loving you!
The Guest Judge: Marchesa designer and co-founder Georgina Chapman. She brings a stunning and enthusiastic presence -- as well as a great ponytail -- to the runway.
The Runway Show: Is making us hungry. Soup is mostly good (design) food. Campbell's labels are turning up in some weird places (hems, seams, on lapels), but hey, the shameless product placement is all for a cause. The best looks reminds us of a tomato-based minestrone, because, um, we really like tomato-based minestrone .
Best Line by a Judge: It's actually an exchange between Heidi Klum and Nina Garcia who hate designer Jesse LeNoir's dress, but love his client's assets. "Good bosoms," Heidi says. "Yes, excellent," agrees Nina.
Who's In: Young Texas designer Amy Sarabi wins with an ethereal, strapless gown that judge Michael Kors describes as the epitome of glamour. Now comes our opportunity to gloat. Remember, we singled out Sarabi as a sleeper talent during the potato sack challenge two weeks ago.
Why Are We Not Surprised?: Mila Hermanovski is in the judges' top three for the third week in a row. If she isn't at Bryant Park for PR's New York Fashion Week finale, we'll sip our minestrone cold. And we despise cold soup.
Who's Out: Jesus Estrada, 21, who lands in the bottom three for the third time. The judges have been questioning his taste level since the first week of competition. This time, his short, fitted dress with soup label seams does not read gala party. Worse, it is a walking exhibit of design cliches. "Where do I start?," asks Kors.
"He took a checklist of everything tacky and incorporated it into one outfit." Estrada takes his ouster in stride. "I made my client happy. She loved the dress," he says. "And I am young, There's more time to hear from Jesus Estrada." 'Project Runway' Episode 4 Recap: Matters of Heart originally appeared on StyleList on Fri, 05 Feb 2010 17:03:00 EST. We love all things Stella McCartney, but unfortunately our limited budget hampers our ability to wear her.
The gold pyramid necklace we have our eye on is a cool $595, so until we get in the splurging mood we'll be tiding ourselves over with this Stella solid perfume necklace -- it's just $49.
Launching in Sephora stores for Valentine's Day weekend and on Sephora.com on February 15, the sleek silver compact pendant is filled with a solid version of Stella, which is McCartney's namesake fragrance.
The original Stella scent is undeniably feminine and sexy with notes of rose, peony, mandarin and amber.
We like the necklace layered with other chains and pendants over simple white t-shirt. But it's limited edition so, mark your calendars, and act fast. Not only has award winner Sandra Bullock looked stunning on the red carpet this year, it seems she's been looking good for a cause.
Celebrity and First Lady-favored jeweler Bochic has launched a charitable initiative in conjunction with the 2010 awards season. Any of the brand's pieces worn by a star on one of the famed red carpets will be auctioned off this spring, with 100% of the proceeds going to Charity: Water to support clean drinking solutions in Haiti.
After hearing this plan, Bullock donned a diamond-adorned Bochic bangle -- with an Alexander McQueen dress -- for her victorious night at the 2010 SAG Awards and now the $5,250 black Bakelite dazzler, with 18kt white gold and diamond detailing, will go to the highest bidder in April.
"We love Sandra, we have worked with her in the past," Bochic founder David Joseph told StyleList. "She is a very caring individual and we are beyond thrilled to have her support in this charitable initiative."
While Bochic anticipates more celebrities signing on for the cause, our eyes will be glued on Bullock's wrists, neck and ears on Mar. 7, when she walks the Oscars red carpet as a Best Leading Actress nominee, to see what might be up for grabs next.

Actress Keira Knightley is Elle's March cover girl and, surprise!, her signature pout is completely intact.
While Knightley's preppy cover, shot by Carter Smith and styled by Joe Zee, looks downright J. Crew catalog-esque (which we consider a really good thing!) -- the actress wears a proper Ralph Lauren blazer, button-down shirt and trousers paired with a rhinestone Vera Wang belt (worn as a chunky necklace) -- the inside pages leave us wanting a bit more.
The somewhat disjointed fashion spread finds the British actress in an old-fashioned hotel room (a large marble museum-like space) posing at an unflattering angle in front of a giant velvet curtain, while wearing everything from a fairy tale-worthy evening dress by Vera Wang, a cocktail-appropriate number by Emporio Armani and even uber-casual jersey leggings by Marc Jacobs.
Perhaps the only consistency in the fashion story is the curly and voluminous brown mane that was gathered tightly around Knightley's face.
In the accompanying article to the themeless shoot, the actress -- both on screen in the new film " Last Night" and onstage in the play " Misanthrope" -- is asked how she feels about being criticized for her acting skills.
"Every time I do an interview with the English press, one of their questions is, 'How do you feel knowing that everyone thinks you're a sh*t actress?'" the potty-mouthed actress tells Elle.
"You have to be selective about the people whose advice and opinions you take. I know [my parents] would never tell me I was sh*t because they were trying to hurt me. It would always come from a very sincere place."
Princess layer: Keira wears a tulle dress with sequined belt and chain applique paired with a tulle skirt, both by Vera Wang. Photo: Carter Smith
Hopefully, her harsh critics will change their minds after seeing her in the romantic drama " Last Night," where she stars alongside Eva Mendes, who plays the other woman in Knightley's marriage to actor Sam Worthington of "Avatar" fame.
In the film, Knightley's character has some " indiscretions" of her own, which fueled epic between-scenes discussions. "The arguments on set were just amazing about whether mental infidelity is better or worse than physical infidelity," she says.
"There was a huge gender divide on the question. Every single woman said that mental infidelity is 10 times worse than [an emotionless assignation]. And most men I spoke with said that it's the physical act that would be the ultimate betrayal."
Want more on this juicy topic -- and from Knightley's moody fashion spread? Pick up Elle's March issue, on newsstands Feb. 16.
Plus, see which other pout-happy British star is gracing the March cover of another of your favorite magazines. Heart Truth Factoid #10:
Twenty-seven percent of adult women in America have hypertension -- better known as high blood pressure -- which is a key risk factor for stroke, heart attack, and heart disease. What's the easiest way to lower your blood pressure?
Eat healthy, stay active, don't smoke, and limit your intake of caffeine, alcohol, and sodium. And if you're looking for a constant (and chic!) reminder of how important it is to look after your heart, it doesn't get better than these dazzlers from Swarovski, part of a special Heart Truth collection that has $100,000 of proceeds earmarked as a donation to women's heart health research.
Why are we promoting a happy heart? It's on trend of course! This month, the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute (NHLBI) will host its annual star-studded Red Dress Collection runway show during New York Fashion Week. The Heart Truth initiative, as it is known, aims to inform women about the risk of heart disease.
Be sure to check back regularly for exclusive news, coverage, and tidbits pertaining to the glam fashion show taking place on February 11th as part of Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week.

Everything about Lady Gaga screams innovation and creativity, from her song lyrics to those outrageous outfits, not to mention some unquestionable talent (her recent Grammy show performance pretty much took over the night).
Then, there's the hair.
Somehow her most striking looks -- giant hair bows and neon yellow, two-tone streaks, just for starters -- wouldn't be the same if Gaga stuck to the natural brown she had in her pre-superstar days.
That shocking platinum comes courtesy of Aura Friedman, Senior Hair Colorist and Educator at the Bumble & bumble salons in New York City. StyleList caught up with Friedman recently to get an insiders glimpse into the Lady Gaga universe.
"We have to do a double process to make Gaga's hair the right shade, which means removing her natural color with cream bleach and then applying a high-gloss dye that actually contains pearly pink, sparkling tones," says Aura. It might seem a little odd, but those pearly pink tones she uses for Lady Gaga's platinum also help boost shine and gloss for anyone with highlights.
Hair as blonde as Gaga's takes lots of maintenance. "We have to do it every three weeks, which is extremely damaging," says Aura. So that Gaga's hair doesn't turn into a fried mess from the repeated stress it endures, she uses Bumble & bumble's Bb Damage Therapy Treatment products on her tresses.
Aura's advice works in the real world, too. She suggests the Damage Therapy line for anyone with colored hair, since they "maintain shine and luster in between all color services."
And when it comes to DIY, Aura is emphatically against it -- especially if you're veering far from your natural color a la Gaga. "My thought on home color is don't do it! I've spent many hours trying to fix the mess it can create," she says.
With fifteen years of dyeing experience, we'll take her word for it on the bleach jobs. But we're all for using an ammonia-free glaze to cover up our grays. MAKE UP FOR EVER Lashes
Lady Gaga loves to wear style #116 by MAKE UP FOR EVER, a thick, feathery look that's certainly not for daytime. Well, at least not fur us! Gaga's makeup artist, Sharon Gault, uses them for stage performances and red carpet appearances alike.
Tammy Fender Skincare
Stars like Alicia Silverstone, Julianne Moore, and Kelly Rutherford trust Palm Beach skincare guru Tammy Fender to keep their skin glowing and young. Fender's holistic product line relies heavily on herbs, essential oils, and old traditions to nourish from the inside out. The bestselling Intensive Repair Balm may not be cheap at $130 a jar, but Fender's followers are happy to invest in the rich, face-saving chamomile and helichysum balm.
Guerlain Terracotta
This line of bronzers has remained the gold standard (pun intended) among celebs and makeup artists since 1984. Becki Newton, Mila Kunis, Ashley Green, and Kristen Bell all have used the bronzers for a believable faux tan. In addition to the regular compacts, the line now includes a tan-boosting version, which contains a unique blend of amino acids that can help prolong a tan. Think of it as your post-vacation weapon to keep the glow going!
Sweet Lily Nail Spa
If you're looking to spot celebs in New York City, check out mani-pedi hotspot Sweet Lily. Stars like Kristen Dunst and Christie Turlington are fans of the laidback nail spa in trendy Tribeca, where armchairs are in and electric massage chairs are out.

Although a good chunk of the US will get hit with a major winter snowstorm this weekend, there is one sign that warm weather is on its way -- spring fragrance launches!
Here's a good one for you -- this weekend Salvatore Ferragamo Parfums is launching new Incanto Bloom exclusively at Bloomindale's, and it's as fresh and spring-y as they come.
"It's a story of flowers done in a young way," the creator of the fragance, Sophie Labbé, from International Flavors and Fragrances, told StyleList at the editor launch event. "It's extremely feminine."
The scent is a bright fruity-floral with top notes of grapefruit flowers and freesia, a "magnificent, blooming heart" of tea rose and champaca flowers, and a deep dry down of cashmere wood and musk.
We adore the girly-chic bottle, which is adorned with the iconic Ferragamo Vara bow.
If you're in the NYC area on Saturday, Bloomindale's 59th Street and Soho are hosting a few promo events to celebrate the launch.
With an $82 purchase (the price of the 3.4 oz Incanto Bloom EDT), you'll get a gift with purchase and Ferragamo Parfums will package and send a mini size of the new fragrance to anyone you want in North America. (You can kill two Valentine's Day birds with one stone!)
Also at the 59th Street location you can do a Miss Bloom photo shoot where you style yourself with Ferragamo accessories and get a picture to take home.
Or check out the pop-up gallery tomorrow in Soho at 201 Mulberry Street between Spring and Kenmare where they'll be doing the Miss Bloom photo shoots and handing out samples of Incanto Bloom.
