The Hindi comedy that follows the Golmaal Returns that came out in 2008 keeps most of its original cast and adds some new flavor! The cast started shooting in March in Mumbai, before traveling to Goa to continue filming. Written by Rohit Shetty and Neeraj Vora, the comedy is directed by Rohit Shetty and produced by Dhillin Mehta. Ajay Devgan stars as Gopal, Kareena Kapoor as Ekta, Arshad Warsi as Madhav, Tusshar Kapoor as Lucky and Shreyas Talpade as Laxman. Other actors include Kunal Khemu, Mithun Chakraborty, Johnny Lever, Sanjay Mishra, Ratna Pathak , Ashwini Kalsekar and Murli Sharma. Director Rohit Shetty spoke to reporters about the new cast and told the Indian Express, "Yes we have Kunal Khemu, Mithun Chakraborty and Ratna Pathak Shah as new members of the cast. They are all new characters in the plot. Contrary to rumors, Mithun is not playing the character played by Paresh Rawal in the first part. It's a completely new character. Mithun and Ratna Pathak Shah's characters also end up getting married during the course of the film." We showed you the pics of Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Kate Winslet shooting their Longines commercial in Rome, Italy in July, but what we thought would be an action-filled and dramatic TV ad turned out to be quite a lame clip! Apart from the bad acting and the poor directing, the clip is also cliché and pretty uninteresting. The Bollywood belle and the Hollywood big shot teamed up to shoot the Longines commercial in Italy, and fans crowded the streets to see the two leading ladies get into action as the cameras started to roll on the streets of Rome. The B-town royalty and Oscar winning actress sure set the stage for a true Bollywood/Hollywood hook up; both actresses looked stunning as they got ready for their close-ups and judging by the pics from the set, the Longines commercial looked very entertaining! We are not used to seeing Ash in action roles, while British actress Kate Winslet has starred in a few thrillers. And it looks like both Ash and Kate worked up quite a sweat on the set! But the final product is rather disappointing. Longines sure knows how to get everyone's head turning as the international cosmetic brand decided to go for a fusion of two beauties, but unfortunately their on-screen chemistry was not what we thought it would be. What sounded like the Bollywood/Hollywood hook up of the year is just another typical commercial filled with bad acting and unconvincing voiceovers, not to mention the lack of humor and wit. Maybe the two actresses are so busy with their respective careers that they didn't bother to make an effort for Longines' cameras? Aishwarya Rai Bachchan's and Rajinikanth's new movie Endhiran, the Robot will hit screens on September 24, but fans can already know get a sneak peek of the scenes in the sci-fi flick as new stills are out! Endhiran, the Robot is a Tamil language action-packed science-fiction flick co-written and directed by S. Shankar, produced by first-time producer Kalanidhi Maran, and composed by international music maestro A.R. Rahman. Endhiran, the Robot tells the story of Dr. Vaseegaran, a scientist who specializes in robotics. In true Frankenstein fashion, Dr. Vaseegaran creates a robot that looks like a human. He names the robot Chitti and introduces it to other humans, which obviously leads to some very funny situations! South Indian 'Superstar' Rajinikanth portrays both Dr. Vaseegaran and Chitti - he even takes on a third role! Aishwarya plays a woman named Sana, while Danny Denzongpa portrays Bohra. Other actors include Karunas, Santhanam and Kalabhavan Mani. Before Rajinikanth was considered for the role of Vaseegaran and Chitti, Kamal Haasan, Shahrukh Khan and Aamir Khan had all been in negotiations to star in the movie. It is rumored that SRK called the script "half-baked" and "dull" and decided to withdraw from the film. In 2008 Rajinikanth was confirmed. Priyanka Chopra and Deepika Padukone were also in talks to play Sana, but soon Aishwarya Rai Bachchan told Indian news channels that she had signed up for the project. Endhiran, the Robot will come out in two different dubbed versions; Robot in Hindi and Robo in Telugu. When Dabangg stars Salman Khan and Sonakshi Sinha came to Hyderabad to promote their upcoming movie, fans got a little too excited and the actor had to turn to his bodyguards to help him fight his way out of the stampede! The whole thing started when Sallu and Sonakshi hit up a local mall to get the word out about their new movie Dabangg. But the crowd was so happy to see them that they tried to get closer and closer to the two actors! Sallu and his lead actress got caught up in the stampede and their bodyguards had to step in to get them out of there! Salman, who was immediately taken away from the scene without being able to promote the flick, took to Twitter to share his disappointment with fans and followers: "Toooo much dhakam dhukhi at the mall, girls n kids were also being pushed around by over excited fans n body guards." Five people were injured in the fight and Sallu, who was looking forward to meet the people of Hyderabad where his previous films Wanted and Veer had fared well at the box-office, later tweeted: "All the way to hyd n did nt get to do anything v sad, any way challo next time mulakaat hogi, oh by the way kick ass airport n road to city." The movie that also stars director Abbas's wife Pankhi, Raghu Ram and Mansi Scott, has been compared to the Hollywood hit Notting Hill starring Julia Roberts and Hugh Grant and the comparison doesn't bother John at all! "Jhoota Hi Sahi is one for guys who want to see a young, fresh film. It's probably in the space of a Notting Hill in terms of its freshness," John told reporters at a promotional event. In the movie that was shot in London, John plays a man named Sid whom he describes as a compulsive liar! "Sid loves to lie. He lies to get his love back without cheating," John said. But that's not all! John will sport a geeky look in the romantic comedy, an unusual style for the handsome hunk! John describes the look as "very different and not something anyone has seen me in before. From a Greek to a geek, long journey I think," the good looking actor said according to Hindustan Times. "This is a side to John that no one has seen. He's painfully ordinary in speech, body language and clothes. He wears thick glasses and can't look straight into anyone's eyes. French designer Louis Vuitton is ever so present in India and plans to go Desi for the Indian festival of lights, Diwali! On November 5, Diwali-themed window displays will be created for the LV stores around the country. Indian artist Rajeev Sethi will hand paint paper trunks that glow from lights that are placed inside of it. A dress made out of saree fabrics will also be on display as a tribute to the festival of lights. The window display will be up for Christmas as well. Salman Khan invited all his B-town friends to a special screening of his new movie Dabangg at Ketnav theater Monday night and stars like Aamir Khan, Imran and Shilpa Shetty showed up to catch the fun flick. In Dabangg, Salman plays police officer Chulbul Pandey, who is described as "fearless, corrupt, lovable and a bad-ass Robin Hood." The action movie is set in Uttar Pradesh and it depicts the flaws of the system in states like Uttar Pradesh and Bihar. Aside from Salman Khan, Dabangg stars Arbaaz Khan, newcomer Sonakshi Sinha, Dimple Kapadia, Om Puri and Anupam Kher. Shooting for the film began in September 2009. Most of the scenes were shot in the town of Wai in Maharashtra, while a song and some important portions were shot in United Arab Emirates. Portions of the film were also shot in the Emirates Palace Hotel in Abu Dhabi and the Dubai Metro. S. Vijayan, the stunt director of Wanted, choreographed the action sequences of the film. The movie wrapped in early June, 2010. And it wouldn't be a Bollywood hit without great music! The film features ten songs produced by Sajid-Wajid and written by Jalees Sherwani. The track list includes the songs "Munni Badnaam" and "Tere Mast Do Nain." Bollywood bad boy Salman Khan is currently busy promoting his new movie Dabangg, and even though he told his sister he wouldn't talk about his relationship with B-town belle Katrina Kaif, the cocky actor can't seem to help himself! On the September cover of Filmfare magazine, Salman is quoted as saying "Who Says I'm Single?" Well, Sallu, you are! According to The Times of India, Salman told reporters during a recent interview that he broke up with Katrina, but that they are still friends. "I have broken up with Katrina. We were friends then for everybody, we are friends now. A relationship breaks if it gets stretched in different directions, or one person does not grow, or the other person takes a different path, or there is some misunderstanding or they have grown out of love." When Katrina was asked about Salman's comments at a press conference for Etihad Airways she said: "If Salman Khan has said he's single, I've also said I'm single. I am single. But beyond that I don't think I need to give too much of details. If Salman says we've split, it must be true." She walked out of the room shortly after and the buzz is the actress was in tears. But now Sallu is turning things around - again! At a recent press conference promoting Dabangg he told reporters: "By the way, Katrina and I are still together ... just for your information." This former beauty queen was born on July 18, 1982. Her father is Punjabi speaking and her mother is from Bihar. These relocations took place due to her father's position as a doctor in the Indian Army. She even lived in the U.S. for a little while in places like Massachusetts and Iowa. The Story: We Are Family is a Hindi film directed by Siddharth Malhotra and produced by Karan Johar. The Bollywood drama is a remake of the 1998 American film Stepmom starring Julia Roberts and Susan Sarandon. In We Are Family Kajol plays Maya, a perfect mother of three children who tries to keep the family a happy unit despite the divorce from her husband Aman, played by Arjun Rampal. The 'happy family' façade reaches an obstacle when Aman introduces his new girlfriend Shreya, played by Kareena Kapoor. Shreya and Maya couldn't be any more different. Maya is a stay at home wife who gave up her career to be the best mother she could to her children while Shreya is a career-orientated woman who knows very little about kids. The two women constantly clash because Maya continues to point out that Shreya does not know how to take care of her children and Shreya accuses Maya of over-stepping her boundaries. Things change when Maya becomes diagnosed with cancer that proves to be life-threatening. Now the family must work together to raise the children and live peacefully together so they can really say "We Are Family!" Kajol is the perfect, mature actress for her role. From his simple glances to her mannerisms, Kajol is purely magnificent. Kareena is starring across one of Bollywood's greatest and doesn't miss a beat. Kareena impresses us with her ability to stay in character. Again Arjun tries something new and is a star! The intensity of this film is just perfect as a serious sequence is followed by laughs without diluting the story. What Didn't: The second half of the story seems slow as very little happens. Fortunately the slow middle is followed through with a strong ending, but this took away from the momentum of the film. The Soundtrack: Shankar, Ehsaan, and Loy slightly disappoint in the music department this time around. The music is mediocre and doesn't help the film much. "Rock On" is full energy and the way in which it has been directed is the crowning glory for this song. Slated or Rated: From the amazing cast to the serious yet light film, We Are Family is a delight. We knew from the beginning that this film is a Hollywood adaptation so many will know what to expect. The Tamil language sci-fi flick tells the story of Dr. Vaseegaran, a scientist who specializes in robotics. In true Frankenstein fashion, Dr. Vaseegaran, played by Rajinikanth, creates a robot that looks like a human. He names the robot Chitti and introduces it to other humans, which obviously leads to some very funny situations! And it looks like the fun is not over for Ash and the Superstar as they party at the actor's daughter's wedding! Full Story
